COLOUR
AND SOUND - HEALING EFFECTS
Colour and
Sound are related and have an healing effect on the body. Chanting or
Toning whilst visualizing colours will produce a healing effect on the physical
body. How? A chant is a
collection of specific sounds that are repeated over and over again. This is to
create a sound that resonates to the cellular body and causes a sense of
penetrating vibrations that will stimulate, heal and balance the inner energy
centres know as charkas.
When you
repeat the following sounds in sequence you are helping to balance your
charkas. When you repeat any one of them individually you are effectively
strengthening or healing that specific charka or energy centre in the body.
Then with the visualizing of the colour that relates to the energy centre or
charka, you are now healing yourself through colour and sound.
A simple way
of opening and clearing blockages then is to sing or tone the scale slowly
upwards whilst visualizing the colour that relates to that charka:

Debourah's definitions of colour as described in her book "Orange Underpants - Your Key to
Emotional Success":
-
Red:
The colour of fire, blood and sacrifice, can signal danger. It is also the
colour of passion. The red energy centre is linked to the reproductive
organs and is thus considered "Sexy".
-
Orange: Linked to the emotional centre, enables us to process emotion
and detach from it. It is the colour of integration and individuality.
-
Yellow: Relates to the conscious left brain - the analytical side. It
also links into the solar plexus which is personality, ego and the digestive
system.
-
Green: Is from the heart and stands for humanity and balance. It is
the mixture of yellow and blue which is yin and yang - male and female
energies. This is the healing energy.
-
Blue: Relates to the conscious right brain - the feeling side. Stands for
honesty, integrity, peace, trustworthiness, authority, credibility, dignity
and power. The colour of expression via the voice.
-
Indigo: Is the colour of our senses - intuition, vision, seeing things
that are hidden from our normal senses. Seeing things in different ways.
Eg: Clairvoyance, clairaudience and clairsentience.
-
Violet: Is the colour of service. Balance of Male and Female energies
on the spiritual side. Production of mucus, skull and effective for
overactivity of the mind.
